Raider IO has successfully ruined the game.
Main Post:
You can't get into a +10 if you don't have a high io score. IO is a determination of player skill, not player ilvl. You can't demonstrate that skill if you cant get into the +10 in the first place. It doesn't matter that you did a +15 on your main. As a result, mythic dungeons are basically off limits for alts.
What should blizzard do about this? Disable the API that raider IO uses to calculate IO scores. Then issue an update that explicitly prevents raider IO from having access to the wow UI.
After that, blizzard should create a new metric. This metric shows the highest key you have timed that season account wide, the highest key you have ever completed account wide, and the number of mythic+ groups in the last month that you were the first person to leave the group while the key was unfinished account wide.
Top Comment: This is why you can't get groups. And honestly, nobody cares what your ilvl is. In today's world, having a high ilvl doesn't mean anything. It might mean you're lucky, and got a bunch of titanforges. It might mean you're patient, and have done a ton of warfronts or gotten other "catch-up" gear. It might mean you're rich and purchased a bunch of carries. And even if you got that gear in raids, even if it means you are skilled at raiding, that doesn't even mean you're going to do well in a mythic dungeon. People want teammates who are experienced in the dungeon they're doing, who know the boss mechanics and skips and are going to pull their weight, do the mechanics, interrupt the spells, stun the trash, and make it a smooth experience without risking their keys to somebody who might not know what they're doing. You don't get that skill without experiencing it firsthand. If you really want to do high level mythic+, people here have already suggested one solution: run your own keys. And if you decide to do that, I'd like to suggest you go out of your way to invite people with low Raider.io scores but high ilvl. I'd wager that you'll quickly come to learn why Raider.io exists and is so popular.
